The tattoo is the story.  I get that.  I want to know more.  I tried to find what the story was behind the tattoo and after reading several media sites, there was nothing mentioned.  So, I messaged Theresa directly through Facebook and asked her if she would share.  I am very aware that I am, in fact, possibly stereotyping because of my awareness of the Serenity Prayer to recovery.  I just think, if she was in fact in recovery or has had a challenge with a substance and overcame that challenge, how beautiful could that moment have been.

Don’t get me wrong.  I think this woman is remarkable and her courage has won me over.  But doesn’t the question beg to be asked regardless of recovery connection or not?  What is the story behind making that lifelong commitment of having that particular message tattooed on your body?

We are not so far apart in our mission.  I want women to overcome their challenges with food and/or alcohol by focusing on moving forward without labels, without rehashing the past, and seeing themselves as powerful beings that can overcome and take charge of their life.  I am breaking the stereotype in that most people want to place Pink Cloud Coaching in the recovery realm.  Pink Cloud Coaching does not do recovery.  I don’t consider my life as recovered or recovering.  I have lived over 10 years sober and it’s gloriously anew with each and every experience, good or bad. 

Struggling with food and/or alcohol does not make an addict or alcoholic.  In many cases a simple, not always easy, life focus needs shifted and action needs to be taken, to align with the truth that was born in us.

So, with that, Miss Kansas, CONGRATULATIONS!   And if you happen by this post it would be great to hear from you.
