Resolving Recovery: A Journey to Wholeness
Recovery isn’t limited to addictions or behaviors. It’s a process that can address learned beliefs, life failures, setbacks, or even those moments when we’ve hit an unbelievable high or low. Recovery can bring us back to a baseline where we can think clearly, where our emotions are balanced, and where we can begin to chart a new path forward. It’s not just about overcoming, but about reclaiming and rediscovering ourselves.
My Personal Journey
My personal journey to what I now call “Resolving Recovery” began with my relationship with Christianity. As a young girl, around 12 or 13 years old, the rigid structure of religion—all the “shoulds” and shames—had a profound impact on me. It became a key factor in losing hope. Over time, I discovered that while religion brought me pain, following the teachings of Jesus became a mood elevator and emotional stabilizer. Jesus’ teachings of love, compassion, and acceptance brought me back to life. But witnessing Christians behaving in ways so antithetical to those teachings filled me with anger, doubt, and bitterness. That pain could have led me to numb myself, but instead, I leaned into my process. I dug for joy and ultimately found clarity about what recovery looks like for me.
Working with Women in Their Prime
Resolving Recovery grew not just from my own experience but from more than a decade of working with women. These women, remarkable and powerful, are in their prime. They have so much life left in them, yet they often find themselves drinking, eating, gossiping, scrolling, or binging screen time to fill a void. Many of them hear a faint voice whispering that their best years are behind them, and instead of ramping up for what could be the most vibrant time of their lives, they begin unconsciously winding down.
This phase—when the kids are grown, careers are shifting, and the days feel aimless—is where I step in. I don’t market to these women; they find me. And it brings me indescribable joy to witness their transformation, from faint embers to full bloom. These women rediscover their brilliance, their dreams, and their courage. They become heroines not just for themselves but for everyone watching.
Women in Their Prime: It’s Not About Age
“Women in their prime” is not defined by age. For some, it begins in their 30s; for others, it’s in their 40s, 50s, or 60s. I’ve even had the pleasure of guiding a woman in her 70s as she embarked on a new adventure and redefined her identity. Age is irrelevant when the spirit is ready to awaken.
Bright, bold, beautiful women need purpose to feel alive. That purpose doesn’t always come wrapped in fun and excitement. Often, it comes with hard work, meaning, and a sense of challenge. But those are the moments that light up our spirits. Those are the moments when others can see our glow from a mile away.
Recovery Is Unique to You
Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey because each of us is unique. Our perceptions, experiences, and aspirations shape what it means to feel whole. Over 20 years ago, I chose an alcohol-free life and refused to adopt the labels and identities that came with it. My journey was far from perfect, filled with more wrong turns than right ones. But through it all, I was guided by love: love for myself, love for others, and love for the truth. Love challenged me, gave me meaning, and showed me the way forward.
Questions to Guide Your Path
The questions I asked myself became my compass:
- Do I love myself and those I surround myself with? Truly love, not just tolerate?
- Do I feel challenged? Do I have meaning?
- What’s true for me? What do I need to feel whole?
- How can I move forward toward wholeness?
These questions still guide me today, and they form the foundation of how I work with others. Resolving Recovery is about reconnecting with your light. It’s about uncovering what makes you feel whole and empowered to live authentically.
Helping You Feel Whole
For me, helping you feel whole is what makes me feel whole. I love nothing more than watching you reconnect with your light and step into your power. This is your time to shine.
